Does promoting my website on a Facebook page really work?’ At first, I was a bit fuzzy to give her answers but somehow managed.
Well, today hoping I can help other business starters to gain some ideas and methods on how to promote or create your business on the Facebook page. According to Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder), Facebook has more than 2.45 billion active monthly users. So, it’s a great opportunity for small and medium entrepreneurs to connect with targeted audiences and make a profit.
Interesting isn’t it, but how?
Do you want a blueprint to follow? After so much research, I found that Facebook is continuously changing its algorithms yearly, which made me a bit fishy. Still, this works for me. It doesn’t matter whether you have an individual business or a company brand, here you can create your business web page in the Facebook site elegantly. Simple Steps to Create a Facebook Business Page:
#1. Log in / Sign up to Facebook and fill basic Info
If you have your Facebook personal account open, then no issues or else kindly register or sign up. Then use the given URL to start your business page:
Once you open it, there will be two options- Business or brand and Community or public figure. As you’re intended to start a business profile, click ‘get started’ shown under the Business or brand section.
Now you will find a few fields to fill out such as Page Name, Categories, Address, Phone number.
(Note: You can alternate the category later but not the name.)
#2: Upload Profile and Cover image:
Now, your business page is created, it’s your duty to add a profile photo and cover photo.
Profile image- 170*170 pixels
Cover image- 820*462 pixels
The profile photo is the main icon shown while posting or publishing, it’s ideal to upload your company logo. When you upload the preferred or square-shaped images, Fb will crop it into a round or circular shape.
For the cover image, it appears on top of the business page. So, it’s advisable to upload images that promote your product or services or brand in a catchy manner.

#3: Complete Page Informations
In the middle of your newly created Fb business page, you will be shown a few tips to help you set up. Click ‘See All page tips’ and you will find various steps to fill.
Otherwise, you can go to ‘Settings’ and click ‘Page info’, where you can fill information for the page. Things to fill out:
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Located in
- Service area
These details will be visible on the About tab of your home page. You can also directly edit and add more content such as your company story, product, award, etc.
Don’t forget to create a page username because this helps people identify your page as it will be seen in your custom URL.
Do you know that every business page owns a navigational or Call-to-action (CTA) button shown below the cover image? This button allows visitors to buy your product or service, enquire or learn more about your business website.
#4. Page Customization
To reshape your Fb page to the next level, there is a template tab on the left side of the business page. Here you will find various sectors like Home, offers, reviews, photos, posts, videos, events, about, community, info, and ads and promote the option. You can choose which tabs to be visible. Each template has a different call-to-action button.
#5. Add Page access
If you have a medium or big company business and wish to share your duties with team members, then you have the option to permit others for certain roles. Roles like Admin, Editor, Moderator, Advertiser, and Analyst are being chosen.
For that, you have to go to page settings and select the ‘Page Roles’ option. Here you can type or choose any of your Facebook friends or co-workers or person who has liked or shared your page. You also have the option to link their email address with the Fb account.
#6. Ready to publish Post
Time to start your business with posting ad banners or product images or videos along with eye-catchy content that attracts visitors to learn more about your service or even forced to buy your stuff. You can tag your product images with links and prices guiding customers in an elegant way.
